Inspired by the current animal print trend, snakeskin is the latest look in Hollywood which is going from the runway to the pages of Vogue straight on to the red carpet.

Vogue cover girl Anne Hathaway is already up with the play when it comes to the latest fashion "I actually just came from a fitting with Rachel Zoe (her stylist)," the actress said.

"I have an event coming up and I am going to wear a snakeskin dress actually. And a good friend of mine just received a python bag as a gift so I have been seeing it around quite a bit yes."

The snakeskin print can also be seen in tons of Spring 09 ad campaign including Prada, Fendi and Bally to mention a few.

The trend is expected to reach its height this summer but hot Hollywood it-girls are already in the know, including Reality Television star Kim Kardashian.

"I wore a snakeskin print dress last night by Jay Godfrey and I got so many compliments on it. I was looking through this 'Vogue' and I saw all the new snakeskin stuff and I have so much of it so I am definitely going to bring it out again, I'm glad it's coming back."

As with any trend, less is often more and fashion icon Sienna Miller suggests the trend is not to be worn head to toe, a small piece here or there works best.

"Yeah a snakeskin print would be nice yeah. If it's not over the top. I think you have to be careful you don't want to over do it on that print. But a cool scarf or leggings or something."

Each season a print, fabric, or specific colour stands out above the rest.

For fall it was tartan plaid but for spring the snakeskin trend has so many more options with accessories or clothes.

"I bought snakeskin cowboy boots when I was in Durango doing a movie,' said actor Justin Chatwin. “Yeah I saw Mickey Rourke wearing a pair once and I was like 'I got to get a pair of those'."

Hollywood has long expressed its love for animals and animal rights and even with faux options, the current trend still won't sway those who are against wearing animal fur or their skin.

"I personally like snakes," actor Rosario Dawson said. "So that's kind of a strange idea to think about wearing them because you know I grew up with snakes. I think they really are remarkable creatures."
