New Zealand is slowly being recognised as a gold mine of talented designers and tomorrow night many of them come together for the best awards, the National Design Awards organised by the Designers Institute of New Zealand.

Made in New Zealand design is becoming a highly exportable commodity and can be found all over the world.

According to those in the industry, the sky is the limit, and it is high time New Zealand understood just how good we are at the potentially very lucrative business of design.

Boring! boring! On what planet does 'the ability of hermit crab to use its tail to hold on to a shell' constitute a headlining story. I know NZ is boringly quiet, but is that the best you can do? Why don't you look at the wasteful research funded by NZ government. At a time when government is looking at productivity gains, might NZ benefit from research in fish farming. That's two ideas without even trying.
