Serena Rees insists it’s simple to feel sexy – wear high heels and matching underwear.
Serena – co-founder of lingerie label Agent Provocateur, which counts Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera and Lily Allen among its celebrity fans – believes it’s important to feel confident about your body and thinks dressing up can help.
She said: “The secret to being sexy? Good lingerie and high heels – it’s as simple as that. I always wear heels, even to walk the dog.
“You have to love your lingerie. My family moved to Seattle when I was 11 years old. Returning to London at 13, I went shopping with a friend for black lace bras. I instantly felt different – it was empowering.”
Serena, 40, also says it’s important to find lingerie that fits properly and insists women shouldn’t worry about splashing out on good quality underwear.
She added to Britain’s Elle magazine: “You’ve got to find the perfect fit. Lingerie is the foundation for how your clothes look. The cups of a bra should sit flat against the skin for a smooth fit.
“Quality is the key. Comfort comes from good quality components - the fabrics, hooks, fastenings and even the underwire casing. Good quality lingerie should be washed by hand as it keeps the shape and fabric in the best condition.”
