NZer on trial in Australia over G-20 protest

New Zealander Sina Brown-Davis will stand trial in Australia tomorrow for her involvement in protests against the G-20 meeting in Melbourne, Novemeber 2006.

It is alleged she was part of a small group that disrupted the otherwise peaceful demonstrations, throwing rocks and bottles at police and smashing windows.

Brown-Davis is charged with intentionally damaging a police van, affray, rioting and possessing a prohibited weapon.

A protest against the trial is expected outside the Australian High Commission in Wellington tomorrow.
