Amateur footage of Dunedin riots

Dunedin is still in clean-up mode after alcohol fuelled students rioted last night.
 
They pelted Police with bottles and set cars, mattresses and couches on fire.
 
The stoush was centred in the heart of the student area in the city's north, as students celebrated the end of the Undie 500 race.
 
69 people have been arrested, most of them students, and will begin appearing in court from Tuesday on various charges.
Police say officers were lucky to escape without major injuries.

All I can say is that these "kids" need to grow up. The immaturity displayed only further fuels the obvious, and that is that they cant handle their alcohol and have no thought for consequences. I feel for the Police, Fire and Ambulance workers who had to attend such a pathetic display of Uni students behaviour. I bet these are the same ones that accumulate huge student debt then disappear overseas. I am just pleased that these are the minority of Uni students, the wanna be academics who have no real hope of ever completing their degree, criminal charge or not. Serious students dont behave in this manner.
