A Chinese milk sweet found in Auckland supermarkets is being tested by the Food Safety Authority, after it came back positive for melamine in Singapore.
The chemical has made thousands of babies in China ill, from contaminated milk powder.
Now the FSA is scrambling to make sure it isn't here as well.
It is sweeping shelves of dairy products imported from China - including the White Rabbit Candy which is banned overseas because it tested positive for melamine.
FSA deputy chief executive Sandra Daly says that has been contradicted in a report which says the test was inaccurate - but the Authority isn't taking any chances.
