Fairfax Media's been found to have not been in contempt of court for publishing stories containing transcripts from secret police recordings over the so-called terror raids in the Ureweras last year.

The editor of the Dominion Post, Tim Pankhurst and the paper's publisher Fairfax were hauled before the High Court in Wellington to face charges of contempt.

However, today High Court judge Tony Randerson and senior judge Warwick Gendall dismissed the case.

It had been alleged the articles prejudiced a fair trial for the 19 people facing weapons charges.
