Former National front leader Kyle Chapman is attempting to drum up support for an exclusive community of "like-minded Europeans" in North Canterbury.

In a leaked email, Mr Chapman says a dwindling white population, greedy politicians and "multicultural brainwashing" by schools have left the country crumbling.

"This is not the Kiwi way, this is pretty gross," says Waimakariri MP Clayton Gosgrove. "It's nutty, it shouldn't be taken seriously, but it is disturbing. I don't want to see is Mr Chapman and his nutty mates goose-stepping around Kaiapoi or Rangiora."

North Canterbury has had reclusive communities before. The Cooperites and their disgraced leader, Hopeful Christian were based in the region for years.

Mr Chapman is looking for funds to create the "unified mini-state" and once they have enough money and members, they will then want to spread to other parts of the country.

According to Mr Chapman's email, the community would focus on survivalist training, sport fighting, business creation and schooling.

He says there would be safety in numbers as well as more mundane benefits such as a bar, access to a natural water source and a large vegetable garden.

Mr Chapman hopes to begin compound-hunting within two years.

Doug - the Maori party's policies or reasons for being has nothing to do with this sort of claptrap that Kyle Chapman is going on about, better really have a good read of history before claiming that one.

Kyle Chapman claims he and his 'like-minded' Europeans are being wiped out. Yes, for good reason - they're largely unintelligent bigots who, as has been mentioned, are somewhat behind the times. Someone mentioned on another site also that this is "no different from what Maris want." I suggested to that writer that he go and join these people as he was also displaying a complete ignorance of history and couldn't even frame an argument coherently - and what is a Mari anyway??? He was eminently suited to Mr Chapman's group in other words!

I've actually met Mr Chapman before - that is, had the pleasure of exchanging words at an Anti-Nazi rally with him and his then 'lieutenant', who made the mistake of opening his mouth and then couldn't utter anything that made any sense, whereupon it was very pleasing to educate Mr Chapman on living in the real world instead of burying his head in the sand and subscribing to doctrines that were given the heave-ho quite emphatically in the last war (well, we all know the US absorbed what was left of the top echelon of the Nazi party in addition to half its top scientists to kick start their space program, and all wars subsequently have been totally one sided, so we'll not call them wars, wars are when two participants of equal force come together, since WW2 we've generally just had America bulldozing through any country it feels fit to subjugate for commercial and corporate reasons).

So ...why don't they just camp out in Texas? I'm sure Bush would welcome them ... his grandfather after all was a money launderer for the Nazis, and George Snr had a couple of ex Camp guards in his administration at one time before he was advised it might 'hurt' his re-election bid, oh and they have MORE than enough space there as well.

Deane, that is a pretty rude accusation, I can only assume you don't know north Canterbury that well.

Don't assume people living in a certain area are that way inclined because of one individual.

I could just as easily say that people living in Hamilton are all jumped up, anally retentive snobs.
