The Green Party is targeting housing affordability in its housing policy released yesterday.

Spokeswoman Sue Bradford wants a capital gains tax on investment properties, to create a level playing-field for everyone trying to enter the property market.

And the party would also like to see a Universal Child Benefit introduced, where each family is given around 17 dollars a week per child.  Money the Party says could be saved for a deposit on a home.

Ms Bradford says the Greens would also like to see three thousand state homes either built or acquired a year over the next three years to ease pressure on housing waiting lists.

Yeah that's right Alien, if your parents can't afford to feed you, you deserve to die. It's totally your fault you were born into that situation.

if you are going to have a child, then you should be able to afford to raise that child, not rely on the government to give an allowance, a benefit for each child you have. Hard working people are having to pay taxes so people can have children, that is wrong. As for housing affordability. There is no problem with it, house prices go in cycles. If you cannot afford a ahouse wait for the down cycle. Again stop punishing people who are getting ahead because all youa re punishing are the people renting the property that will be paying the tax, because that is where the landlord will push any extra tax.
