America's Lingerie Football League is set to expand to a 12 team competition, meaning new players are needed, and as triallists found out the game is not just about frilly knickers and looking pretty - the girls need to be harder than false nails.

Pro football does not come easy to the hordes of hotties trying out to be part of the league - the girls learn the hard way, and a broken nail is the least of their worries.

But while they are still trying to master the tackle bags, they have definitely got the bay watch run sorted, which is good, as the founder of the league is clear that physical attractiveness is an attributes the girls are going to need if they are to start racking up the touch downs.

The girls also need to have some athletic experience, and given the skimpy uniforms the shy need not apply.

But just because they will be strutting their stuff wearing only their smalls, don't think that the girls are just eye candy – they say they are as tough as the guys, just in their underwear.

The season kicks off in September with the league promising entertainment that is unlikely to fall flat.
