The pair were stopped at Auckland International Airport after displaying flu-like symptoms

Two people have been stopped at Auckland International Airport with flu symptoms.

The pair, who were flying from Los Angeles to Australia via Auckland, have been taken to Middlemore Hospital and isolated for testing.

The tests will determine whether either of the pair have swine flu.

"At Auckland Airport that is the process we have in place," says Emergency Planning co-ordinator Steve Brazier.

"They would have been warned about swine flu and spoken to by a doctor or nurse - I would expect them to get swabbed."

This follows confirmation last night that the World Health Organisation laboratory in Melbourne had returned positive swine flu results from three of the 11 Rangitoto College group who had previously tested positive for influenza A.

That was enough to assume all 11 were positive.

Mr Ryall encouraged anyone experiencing  flu-like symptoms to consult their GP.

Ok, yes, the swine flu has a confirmed presence in NZ and the ministry of health has been seen to have acted apropriatly, but they should be publicly informing everybody of precautions that they can take to prepare themselves if they come into contact with it.. e.g. citris fruits, vinegars, honey etc.
Diet strengthens immune systems and you have a better chance of fighting such flus Where are the PUBLICISED PRECAUTIONS??!!
