The Big Night In starts tomorrow night at 7pm. It’s a 23 hour long broadcast to raise money for KidsCan won't be the telethon that you remember. For instance there's a show within the show - the big audition.
Nine singers from around New Zealand have won the right to compete for a trip to Los Angeles to record a single.
It's not a limo but it gave a group of hopeful starlets a taste of what could be, including early mornings.
“Still trying to wake up at the moment but I'm sure that when I'm awake - it's like it's starting to hit me slowly. Whoa it's actually happening,” says Annalise Le Grange.
Annalise Le Grange is one of nine singers who've won the right to perform at the Big Night In.
“We were amazed when we did the auditions round the country just who turned up and there were some great singers among them -really good people, “ says Miss Le Grange.
But that's in the past, thank goodness. Today vocal coach Suzanne Lynch will only be working with the cream.
“So we're going to work on performance and vocals today and just so you know what you'll face when you arrive at the telethon and you're on that big stage O.K?” say Miss Lynch.
Musical director Mark Dennison and dancer Brian Jones are helping Suzanne get the best from the singers.
It will be nerve wracking. Three perform in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch then one is chosen from each region to compete for the top prize.
It's Stella Mitsoulis' turn to rehearse. This is her last chance to work with the experts.
It's a preview of what may be at 5 o'clock on Sunday evening when the winner of the big audition is announced.
They will have endured hours of pressure but the chance to fly to Los Angeles and record is worth it.
