No Doubt's reunion stalled by Gwen Stefani's pregnancy

Rockers No Doubt were due to record their sixth studio album in 2008, but the band's reunion was shelved after lead singer Gwen Stefani fell pregnant.
The ‘Don't Speak’ hitmakers took a break to focus on their family life after the 2001 release of their hit album Rock Steady, but they hoped to make new music after Stefani, who launched a solo career during the band's hiatus, wrapped up her solo tour.
However, the 42 year old soon found out she was expecting a second child, which stalled the group's plans.
She tells New York Magazine, "As soon as I was done with that last tour, I was done. I was like, 'Okay, I'm ready; I'm so ready for the No Doubt record.' And then I got pregnant with Zuma, and it was really challenging to be pregnant and come off all the stuff I had done, and try to write. And that's why things got really delayed; it was like, impossible. I just couldn't do it; I had nothing left to give."
And just weeks after giving birth to her son in August, 2008, the new mum stepped back into the studio with her pals.
She adds, "There's nothing that compares to being in a band with your best friends you've known all these years... And when I finally had (Zuma), we said, 'Let's just go on tour and try to get inspired.' And when we came off tour we wrote our first song."
The group is set to release its long-awaited record Push and Shove on 25 September.
