Then in this instance they could have shot Shane, and we wouldn't have any complaints about any fence, and the public would be safer with one less idiot with a vehicle putting everyones lives in danger.

If Shane was stuppid enough to flee over an electric fence at night, and not take enough care with a police escort, I say hard luck crim. Next we will have calls for electric fences to be banned for the danger they impose to fleeing crims! Shane was illegally tresspassing when he jumped the fence intially, he was fleeing police, and before that he was speeding. They should lock him and his wheel chair up and throw away the key.

also there wer no civillian witnesses anywhere near the fence at time of accident (have spoken to people that wer at the house), it was pitch black (night time), the only "eye witnesses" wer police and shane, the police wouldnt even let a lady who works for the whangarei hosp anywer near him to see if his injuries required urgent medical care ( which they did) so why did they leave him lyeing on the ground for nearly an hour before even calling an ambulance...getting there fabricated tale right i guess???
