Police aren't looking for anyone else in relation to the deaths of three people whose bodies were found in a Christchurch garage.

The local Korean Society president says the deaths were likely related to isolation rather than financial pressure or immigration issues.

Post mortems will be carried out on the bodies of a 44-year-old Korean woman and her two teenage daughters today.

It is understood the family had recent dealings with the Immigration Service and the house they died in was sold recently.

Their large brick house had been on the market since November with an asking price of $657,000 and recently sold for about $100,000 below that price, one neighbour told The Press.

"I don't think they have financial problems, but they have been isolated for so long," Christchurch Korean Society president Kevin Park says.

The woman had separated from her husband, who lives in Korea, and that may have led to conflict between the couple and exacerbated the family's isolation, Mr Park says.

"It's a very isolated situation for some families," he said.

Mr Park said the Korean Embassy had contacted the husband, who was coming to New Zealand "as fast as he can" and could be in the country as early as tomorrow.
