The Transport Agency says it will increase tolls on Auckland’s Northern Gateway for the first time since the route opened three years ago.
From March, the charge for cars will increase 20 cents to $2.20 and the heavy truck toll will go up 40 cents to $4.40.
The agency says the increases are necessary to keep the road viable and help pay debt that was borrowed to build it.
