A Mongrel Mob affiliate with the word "notorious" tattooed across his face was remanded in custody after he appeared in Hastings District Court today.

Shannon Watene, who allegedly threatened a woman with a gun in Napier this month, was arrested yesterday after 11 days on the run.

The 30-year-old was facing threatening to kill and firearms charges.

He entered no plea when he appeared in court today. He will reappear on Monday.
