this guy can't feed his family but has a fancy flatscreen tv and what looks like a sky set top box in his lounge ???
I would like to know if David has taken one of the jobs he was offered. I was one of those offering to help David by using my contacts to get him back on his feet, after two days I contacted TV3 left my details with them to pass on to him. Has he recieved this? If he has taken a job with someone else then good for him. please let us all know.
I'm glad I finally got to watch this, I have so much admiration for solo dad's. Good on you David, and good on all those that gave to help you out. Probably the greatest trait of NZ'ers is the ability to help others out. A good bloke and deserves a hand up and I wish him and his boys the best going forward. Please give us another update if he gets a job!!
Give the man a job, not a loaf of bread.
Kia Ora David and family Thank you for going on TV and sharing your personal life with us and being a voice for all those struggling,My sister is one of many trying to make end's meet. she is a solo mum with 2 boys plus she has a 16 year old and 19 year old over from time to time,It make's me sad when I look in her cupboards and see how empty they are,but she doe's so well with what little she has.We also live in a small town called Balfour and get get's very cold at winter time.I try to help where ever I can but we are on a budget also,I get really gutted when the govt is over spending on mercede's bendz or paying between $1000-$1400 dollar a day to for the independent panel, three members: Former National Prime Minister Dame Jenny Shipley, Anake Goodall and Murray Sherwin to monitor the Christchurch quake body. That could feed so many people.Kia Kaha David and thankyou for being a voice for us.
Im a solo mum of 2 young girls aged 3 and 7. So i understand where this father is coming from.We live week to week on a benefit and struggle to get thru a week.My eldest girl has had to take days off school as we havent had any food for her to take or my car has no petrol in it.Power and phone bills are overdue, even tho im trying to pay them each week. Everything has gone up in price, except wages. Ive cried so many times, cos i feel ashamed asking friends for help who i know are just getting by as well. They say dont stress, but thats all i seem to do is stress and cry. I do my best as a solo mum, my parents cant help out as they struggle with what they have also. I feel alone and going into work and income is awful, cos i feel like im degraded for been a solo mum.
Its good to see others helping him out but lets face it, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Theres plenty more just like him and the irony is half the people who donated to him probably voted national last election which only would have made his position worse. As long as right wingers are in power this demographic is only going to get bigger and bigger. Get a clue people, National is for the rich, Labour is for the poor - vote accordingly.
with u on that 1 jill duncan!! they really have no idea how the rest of us live. to me if ur not rich they dont care. get national out!
I wonder why David is not getting Working for Families assistance from IRD? This should be more than $200 for 3 children and yes it is paid to those on a benefit.
Please can you give me the address of David Geddes so that I could send a wee donation, I did ask a few days ago. If you think this is not appropriate now maybe another address would be helpful. Cheers, Sheila
