An Olympian who sparked controversy when he set up a brothel to fund his Olympics campaign is now selling the property.

Taekwondo featherweight Logan Campbell last year established a "high-class gentlemen's club" in Auckland, a move condemned by the New Zealand Olympic Committee and Taekwondo New Zealand (TNZ), who said athletes should set as an example to others.

Campbell has now put the brothel on the market, listing the property on TradeMe with a $1 reserve.

He hoped to get the highest possible price and would use the proceeds to fund overseas competitions, he told Newstalk ZB.

Campbell finished in the top 16 in the taekwondo featherweight division at the Beijing Olympics. He said last year he hoped to raise $300,000 for the 2012 London Olympics.

Watching this segment on the news last night made me want to puke. This guy is not selling this silly brothel in order to do the right thing, and redeem himself in the eyes of any Olympic committee.

He is selling it because it is losing money, hand over fist, just like every other brothel in Auckland City that does not have a well established reputation...ie been there since the dawn of time.

Anyone who has paid any attention to the effect that decriminalisation of prostitution has had on New Zealand, would know that brothels are no longer the cash cows that they once were.

just a side note, the London Olympics are in 2012, not 2011
