The luxury cruise liner Queen Elizabeth departed for Wellington overnight.

Hundreds of people turned out to watch the ship cruise into Auckland harbour early this morning; where she stayed for one day..

The Queen Elizabeth, which belongs to Cunard Line, weighs more than 90,000 tonnes and can carry about 2,000 passengers and 1,000 crew members.

She is midway through her 103-night voyage around the world.
