If you hate the sound of screaming teenage girls ringing in your ears be warned - it's about to get a lot worse.
The British boy band One Direction has just landed in Auckland on a private jet.
Being in amongst the thick of it is like being on another planet. A planet where nothing exists except love for the latest marketing sensation.
Eight hundred were drawn to Western Springs lured by the chance to win last minute tickets, and an invitation to meet the five lads.
One Direction fan Melissa McFadzien says the band members are very likeable people.
“They're just real people, and they've got real faults and personalities. They're real likeable,” says Ms McFadzien.
DJ Dom Harvey of The Edge says the band’s look is all part of their appeal.
“They're stylish young guys, they're good looking young guys, and it starts with one girl getting into them, and then the rest of the girls want to join the pack,” says Dom.
Some diehard fans have been camped out at the airport since 8am this morning.
Others went so far as to book a room at the same hotel as the band to increase their chance of meeting the boys.
One Direction has three concerts planned while they’re here in New Zealand. The 10,000 tickets sold within 10 minutes.
The five shot to fame after being born during the reality TV show, X Factor.
