One person is dead and two injured after a fatal motor vehicle collision in Hawke’s Bay earlier this afternoon.
A blue van collided with a four wheel drive near the intersection with Kereru Road on SH50 west of Hastings just after 1pm.
The only passenger in the van died at the scene, and the driver has been taken to Hastings Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the four wheel drive suffered minor injuries.
SH50 is currently closed in that area, with traffic diversions in place at Tikikino and Maraekakaho.
Police are investigating the incident.
