One person is dead and diversions are in place following a truck versus car crash south of Auckland.
Police say “details are sketchy” but the crash happened at about 8.05pm on State Highway 1 just north of the State Highway 2 junction in Pokeno.
Diversions are in place on SH1 north and south of Pokeno, at the end of SH2 and the northbound ramp at Helenslee Road is closed.
Traffic is being diverted north via Tuakau on the Whangarata Road and police advise motorists to delay trips north on SH1.
Police, fire and ambulance are at the scene.
