Despite calls for Key to sack Banks, he hasn't. Hypocrisy much?

Despite calls for Key to sack Banks, he hasn't. Hypocrisy much?

Opinion by Political Editor Duncan Garner

I want you to watch this.

It's John Key in full cry demanding Helen Clark sack Winston Peters over the Owen Glenn affair.

Key: "She now has a reason to doubt the word of Mr Peters."

Key: "Isn't it clear that Mr Peters has now misled the public?"

Key: "The Prime Minister should act to sack Mr Peters immediately."

Now, think about the John Banks affair, and the current Prime Minister's reaction to all the evidence in the police report that he refuses to read - and enjoy the watch.

Isn't it amazing how they change once in office?

Banks solicits 'anonymous' cash donations from multiple parties. They arrive in plain white envelopes and he says he 'knew nothing about them'.....(pathetic). Jonkey gets caught obviously lying about the timing of the GCSB meetings. The staff meeting video gets buried and his memory fails the PM right on que. When either of them get put under the spotlight and peppered with questions by the media, they either can't comment or can't recall anything about the issues. Has anyone else noticed Jonkey gets that thousand yard stare on and sounds like he's giving a deposition. Sorry I can't recall, I can't say for sure, I don't remember or the always dependable,..."not as far as I know". Is this what NZ has settled for as a PM? It is a sad indictment of where we are as a nation and whats even sadder is Nov 2014 looks like a long way off.

Banks is shot. He has acted to deliberately defeat one of the very laws he, as a parliamentarian, should be upholding. He can't be trusted. He should go!

Why is anyone taking promises of an opposition party so seriously. Its all smoke and mirrors, they must think the voter is stoopid.

Mr Garner, is your blog tomorrow about the MAJOR of MAJOR F***ups John Key has made with denying his knowledge of the storming of Dotcom's residence?
Of course John Key knew. Even if Bill English was Acting Prime Minister at the time, John key would have been informed when he returned from the sojourn of his son's sporting debut in the States. He is the Minister of Security, so would have been informed either before he went or when he returned, PERIOD.
Duncan, if you still bend the Prime Minster's ear over tea and sandwiches, please pass on to my employee that he was voted in and his and all other pollies' pay is coming out of the common man's wages and his government is forming more cracks than Christchurch.
Duncan, honey. What's your view on the bullshit the smiling assassin is feeding us? Will it be good for
tomatoes or roses? Or a nuclear fallout for a Key politician?

It's even worse than that. John Key was happy to read the report on Dotcom as soon as it came hot off the press that theoretically exonerates him, yet still finds it difficult to read the report that has been widely available questioning John banks honesty that would also cause him to apologise. Funny thing politics, makes honest men dishonest.
