Oprah Winfrey was among a 50,000-strong crowd at last night’s U2 concert in Sydney.

The talk show queen's much-hyped show will be filmed today, with 300 guests she brought with her from the US, at a closely guarded Sydney Opera house.

Australian tourism agencies reportedly paid Oprah $5 million to bring her show downunder – but they expect the spinoff in tourism revenue to exceed $25 million.

RadioLIVE’s Australian correspondent Jason Morrison says there will likely be a benefit for New Zealand as well.

“When this goes to air on television in the United States, it’ll be a wall-to-wall ad for how amazing [Australia] is as a country to tour, and if they come this far, they’re probably going to pop over the Tasman.”

What has this story have to do with the title? It says virtually nothing about Oprah at U2 concert! Poor journalism and a blatent plug for her show.

Yep, Oprah was there for a short time sitting with some of her audience members and her best friend Gayle King was there the whole night.
