A rescue helicopter has spotted a group of tiger sharks preying on a large school of fish off the east coast of Noosa, Australia.

The crew of the helicopter said they saw more than one hundred sharks encircling the fishes in a long stretch of the coastal area, according to media.

There were no swimmers in the vicinity, but local life guards nearby have been alerted of the sharks presence.

Although known as solitary hunters, recent studies on different shark species indicate some of them follow a pattern of group hunting.
