Animal activists dressed in ‘grim reaper’ costumes protested at the world premiere of The Hobbit, holding signs which referenced the alleged death of animals involved in the making of the film.

At least two people in black costumes held signs saying, “3 horses died for this film”, and, “The Hobbit: Unexpected Cruelty”.

The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) had earlier warned that their members would attend the event.

Don, why don't you read more and get yourself better informed! Facts have already been provided about the despicable conditions the animals had to endure during their captivity on that death trap of a farm.

Jennifer, your pretty "lame" to be making such comments. You need to have morales and learn compassion, understanding and caring towards all of GOD'S creatures! It's obvious that you don't care about the welfare of animals. I would not want to be your "child" or your "pet", because you'd most likely be a neglectful parent! And the protestors did not hide their faces to keep their identity a secret. They did it to make a point, which you don't understand!

Grow up, treat humans and animals with the same respect that everyone deserves! I'll always speak out against cruelty to animals and stand up for them against cruel people like you and Don.

Go PETA, VEGANISM AND COMPASSION FOR ANIMALS EVERYWHERE!

It would be really nice if everyone got their facts straight and stop listening to people who jump on whatever bandwagon that will give them exposure. Present the facts on what actually happened, so far there are no facts on what happened, just heresay and assumptions. PETA if you want creditability you must present the facts not just go on what someone else says.

TWO horses died. From natural causes. Bandwagon jumpers should check their facts first... and pretty lame to hide their identity.

My reaction to the animal cruelty issues displayed in Jackson't latest movie, will be to boycott the film. This sort of behaviour is to be villified by all people, not just people who care about the VOICELESS rights of animals to be treated with dignity and compassion, especially when they earn NOTHING for being in these multi-million dollar films!
