@braam: socialism is dead, everyone knows it, catch up; we are talking about democracy and transparency here. I myself have noticed that mr Key is getting booed whenever he gets up in front of working class people nowadays. Deservedly so. I used to like him, now I would not even shake his hand. Not much of a choice this coming election, but face it, we all need a break from steal-from-the-poor-give-to-the-rich nat policies and *ahem* disingenuities.
Hang on. If Key was told by Treasury, week after week the entire time he's been Prime Minister, that South Canterbury Finance was going bankrupt, then why did they sign SCF up to the Retail Deposit Guarantee scheme? And then renew the deed three times? Perhaps so that their heavily invested cronies could withdraw their investment down to the guarantee level of $250,000? So that the only risk was held by the taxpayer? So that $1.8 billion of taxpayer money could be funneled to those already wealthy enough to be investing in such things? Frankly, if people want to take the risk associated with investing in supposed high-reward schemes then they should do just that - take the risk. But, this is National - the public take the risk, while the private take the profit.
Glad to see Mr Keys getting what he deserves. The public have now seen through this Nationalists schemes and looking after the rich at the expense of the poor. They now threaten further cuts to the public services which will see the unemployment rate climb. Will it be CEO’s or GM’s that get cut? No ways, only the poor people at the bottom. Service levels will fall and then you wonder why the hell are we actually paying tax? To fund Mr Keys and his buddies to live a good life? Looks like it is back to Labour at the elections. They weren’t first choice but anything is better than what is currently happening.
Dear Labour socialists, please notice how National supporters don't flock here to defend Key, as always you will flock here to rip him apart, because you stand for nothing you have to criticize what other parties do. You are not a mature party, and this country which is growing up, will not vote for you anymore.
Great to see people finally seeing John key for who he is, a public face with a big PR firm telling him what to do.However the one thing PR companies cant undo is lies that are told, and John Key has told more than his fair share of lies in the last 3 years.National kept spilling idiocy about the rich leaving if they didnt get a tax cut.Well the only places with a lower tax rate for top personal incomes is mexico and korea and I dont see any of the over priveldged running off there. And effectively all we are doing is increasing our foreign debt to pay for it.Yes raise GST to help balance the books, but why the hell would you give a tax cut to the wealthy when the country couldnt afford it... and contrary to popular belief.. none of them were planning on running away anyway.Rich overpriveledged snots like John key only ever look after themselves.
Timaru is the Tasmania of New Zealand, two headed fools.
Good too see that more and more people are finding out that Key is nothing but a liar.He is mixing with the rich and poor, and they are turning against Key for his blatant lies. Now the media should start talking about him in more of a sinister way and leave Goff alone,at least he is truthful, and more educated than John Key is.
He is damned if does and damned if he doesn't. This was a lose lose situation.
Thats because he is a liar amoungst other not so PC names. The National Nazi's must know themselves that they are going again this year. Wooooooooo Hooooooooooo
Over the entire time of the Governments intrusion into SCF I am still unaware as to what Mr Hubbard is supossed to have done. Would someone explain in plain english what he has been accused of? If the alleged fraud has taken place, as was so imminent why has it taken so long to find? Maybe Mr Keys should call on Winston Peters to find out after all, the Winebox inquiry was solved by him.
