Further details have begun to emerge of dubious spending by MPs at the taxpayers' expense.

Labour MP David Cunliffe spent $1435.93 in one night at the classy Westbury Hotel in Mayfair, London, including a $117 lunch and $66 breakfast.

A credit card stolen from John Key's office was used at a shop that sells party pills and a tobacco store, costing the taxpayer $843.91.

The theft was reported to police in October last year.

Also on the PM's card was a $1115.65 feed at a restaurant in Honolulu, including three $120 bottles of wine.

Progressive leader Jim Anderton meanwhile managed to rack up $22,000 on his card whilst in Europe for a month in 2003. At one hotel in Frankfurt, he managed to spend $2100 on unspecified "room charges".

Various expenses he paid back include a round of golf ($50) and clothes ($202).

John puts in some long hours, there's not a lot of difference between taking a pill of BZP or a can of V and espresso cappuccinos, they are stimulants which keep you awake and alert. $20 of party pills is far more economical for the tax payer than the $120 bottles of wine which will just cause his judgement to become more impaired. Nice that Jim got some new clothes too.

Kiwi I know too darn well about you dont need a pin on your card,Any dumb arse should know it is much safer too have one,I travel all around the world at times and My cards are my cards and if lost them no one else can use them. You are probably one of those who dont care much about security but I do.Even too my wireless modem I have security on it,even down too my goods in the house are security coded .As for Key and his lost card, did he notify the supplier at first instance, bit useless notifying the police, and not the supplier,Must have been an inside hit as the card was used in honolulu,he probably drank too many JK wines and became blind and gave it too some Tart too hold.

The question has to be asked, why did ministerial services not cancel the card immediately when it was stolen? How long after it was taken was it used? Johnmillan you don't need a pin number to use a credit card, there's such a thing as a 'signature'.

This issue of John Key having his credit card stolen, and then used for the purchase of party pills will need a thorough and full investigation.
Questions need to be asked:
Why did the card not get reported as soon as it was stolen?
Was it stolen?
Have the police found the person who stole the card?
There are far too many questions that need to be answered before this issue is allowed to rest.

I see some nasty comments creeping in for from the left again. 'John millan and 'kay' sound like they are the biggest nut bars so far [again]. They come out with the usual socialists behaviours of complaining, being negative, blaming others, sitting on your pity pot and being a victim. Boo-hoo - It's not my fault, Boo-hoo I can't help myself, Boo-hoo I want more handouts because I'am too lazy to get of my arse and sort my own life out.
Boo-hoo indeed - get a life you morons.
