Her first song was 'It's Christmas and I Hate You', hardly the lyrics to put you in a festive mood.
But Paloma Faith has since moved on, put a little more cheer into her work and is now one of Britain's rising stars.
She is billed as the new Duffy and Amy Winehouse, but just quietly would prefer to be the next Etta James.
She doesn't want to be just known for her singing prowess - she has her sites set on an acting career, and starred alongside Heath Ledger in his last movie.
