Paranormal Activity star Micah Sloat seriously considered quitting acting before he found overnight fame in the horror film - because he was convinced he would never make it big in Hollywood.
Sloat and co-star Katie Featherston shot to stardom last month, after the film stormed the US box office and spent a week at number one.
He started out as a caterer in Los Angeles before pursuing work as an actor and admits he nearly missed out on the breakthrough role that has launched his career.
He explains, "I was about to quit acting and go to music school because acting is really hard. I looked at the thing (casting notice) and the audition's right down the street from me. I was about to get up from the computer and turn it off, but I said I have to see what this audition is about."
