Michael Jackson taught his daughter Paris how to act after his Moonwalker film inspired her to pursue a career in Hollywood.

The 13 year old has landed her debut movie role in upcoming fantasy film Lundon's Bridge and The Three Keys, and Paris has revealed she knew she wanted to act after she saw her father's 1988 music-themed picture.

She also admits the late King of Pop encouraged her career choice and even practised acting exercises with her.

Paris tells TV host Ellen DeGeneres, "I was really little. My dad was in the movie Moonwalker and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn't know he could act. I saw that and I said, 'Wow, I want to be just like him.'

"We would do improv (improvisation) together. He would give us little scenarios. He would say, 'OK, in this scene, you're going to cry,' and I'd cry on the spot."

Paris Jackson's appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airs in the US today.
