Michael Jackson's daughter says she was inspired to be an actress after seeing her father in the film Moonwalker.
Paris Jackson spoke to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres about her acting aspirations and the lengths that her father took to protect her identity. The episode airs Thursday.
Paris says when she was younger she didn’t understand why her father made her and her two brothers wear masks.
She says no one recognised her when she began attending school.
"Yeah, I'm like 'this is stupid, why am I wearing a mask?'" she told Ellen DeGeneres.
"But yeah, I kind of realised the older I got he only tried to protect us and he explained that to us too."
Paris says she had a great childhood and was just like any other kid.
"I do have like a regular childhood, I'm treated the same."
"Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father I could imagine.”
The 13-year-old says her father encouraged her and did improvisation sessions to develop her skills. The teen has been cast alongside Larry King in a film based on a children's book that is in early stages of development.
"We did improvs together and he would give us little scenarios like 'So in this scene you're going to cry' and I'd cry on the spot."
