Paul Henry will soon be back on the telly, but you will have to cross the Tasman to see him.

The controversial broadcaster, signed to MediaWorks, and currently RadioLIVE’s Drive show host will front a new breakfast show on Australia’s Network Ten to be launched next year.

Henry will continue at RadioLIVE until March 2012, and will then become the station’s Australian correspondent.

The 7pm Sunday show starring Henry announced at the recent TV3 new season launch will still go ahead.

The offer was a surprise for Henry, who says he is pleased the deal allows him to continue to work for MediaWorks – a company he describes as “innovative and nuggetty”.

He will play an integral role in TV3's election coverage provide commentary and analysis for the leader's debate on Monday November 21.

On election night he will be part of the TV3's analysis team and provide updates for the RadioLIVE show.

The deal will see Henry return to a breakfast slot for the first time since his acrimonious split with TVNZ.

Henry left the state broadcaster after a series of controversial on-screen gaffes, including laughing at the name of Sheila Dikshit, Delhi’s Chief Minister, and a female interviewee’s moustache.

The guy is a prick that makes me laugh I was looking forward to some more of those laughs. Australia's win our loss. To all of you who are offended, good! You are the kind of the namby-pamby pillocks responsible for the erosion of our freedon of speech. To me you are more offensive than Henry.

I would hardly call this a brain drain. The Aussies are welcome to have him. I give it 12-15 months, unless he is smart enough to keep out of trouble. There are only so many times you can dine out on the breakfast fiasco. @Greg : is there anything different about you that we can all have a laugh at? A gammy leg? A wonky eye? A long 2nd toe? A surname schoolboys would titter over behind the bike sheds? I'm looking at the final paragraph and I'm still seeking something to make me laugh.....nope, there is nothing funny about people who don't look or sound like you.
