Paul Henry will soon be back on the telly, but you will have to cross the Tasman to see him.
The controversial broadcaster, signed to MediaWorks, and currently RadioLIVE’s Drive show host will front a new breakfast show on Australia’s Network Ten to be launched next year.
Henry will continue at RadioLIVE until March 2012, and will then become the station’s Australian correspondent.
The 7pm Sunday show starring Henry announced at the recent TV3 new season launch will still go ahead.
The offer was a surprise for Henry, who says he is pleased the deal allows him to continue to work for MediaWorks – a company he describes as “innovative and nuggetty”.
He will play an integral role in TV3's election coverage provide commentary and analysis for the leader's debate on Monday November 21.
On election night he will be part of the TV3's analysis team and provide updates for the RadioLIVE show.
The deal will see Henry return to a breakfast slot for the first time since his acrimonious split with TVNZ.
Henry left the state broadcaster after a series of controversial on-screen gaffes, including laughing at the name of Sheila Dikshit, Delhi’s Chief Minister, and a female interviewee’s moustache.
