At last today there has been an uplifting story from the Victoria fires.
It came about when volunteer fire fighter David Tree saw a slow moving koala in the burnt out trees.
Its paws were scorched and it was dehydrated.
Tree called out to it and remarkably it came to him to drink like a baby from his water bottle.
Even more remarkably the incident was captured on a cellphone camera.
