I am a lab technician for a hearing aid company, In my mind hearing is everything. It would be irresponsible to withhold this technology from anyone who needs it. People will be more functional in society if people can get the tools the need to communicate. That’s common scenes. These electronics get pumped out of factories in china in there millions this makes them very cheap to manufacture. I would estimate that it would cost $10 an item to produces I respect that there has been much work involved in the processes of manufacturing to the final fitting. But I would like to point out that these hearing aids will be marked up by as much as 800 times there production cost by the time they are fitted! In my mind hearing aids should not cost any more then a pocket watch. Real education in our society is very poor people should be able to get access to all the information that they need to wear a hearing aid free of charge so that hearing aids can be fitted by a well educated public.
