Rocker Perry Farrell is overjoyed to have booked Black Sabbath for Lollapalooza in what will mark the band's only US date of 2012.
Ozzy Osbourne's legendary rock group was forced to cancel a number of shows this year after guitarist Tony Iommi was diagnosed with cancer. Many of their dates have been changed to feature 'Ozzy & Friends' instead of Black Sabbath - all apart from an appearance at Britain's Download festival in June, and now a set at Farrell's Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, Illinois in August.
The Jane's Addiction star admits he was heartbroken to hear of Black Sabbath's troubles, but he never gave up hope of booking his heroes for a US show.
He tells Rolling Stone, "Every festival in the world wanted Black Sabbath to perform, but at the time of the announcement they had to back off and cancel all their shows. It broke my heart, but I just kind of kept a little fire building, a little kindling going to see if possibly we could get Black Sabbath. I didn't have much faith...
"They mean so much to me, and they mean so much to music in general, that I kind of feel like I'm dreaming to know that Black Sabbath is actually gonna perform at Lollapalooza."
Lollapalooza will take place from 3-5 August and other acts on the bill include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack White and the Black Keys.
