NZ First leader Winston Peters was ordered to leave Parliament's debating chamber today because he argued with Speaker Lockwood Smith.

Mr Peters tried to dispute Prime Minister John Key's answer to a question he had asked.

Dr Smith said Mr Key had given a satisfactory answer, and as Parliament became rowdy told MPs they were behaving like spoilt brats.

Mr Peters started interjecting and was ordered out.

He had to stay out for the rest of question time, about 90 minutes, and lost his chance to ask further questions.

Heehee @ Alison, you do the same for the left...Pot meet Kettle!
Yourself and Dave normally post on any items critical of the Govt but are quiet or posting a rant on any that are critical of Labours implosion. (usually attacking the news piece writer rather than the actual substance, typical of The Standard tactics)

@aiden you and your mate mike the national party pushers constant rantings and ravings for anything non national are so overtly extremist. Peters was supported by other members and the speaker lockwood smith was in the wrong. I too would like to know who gets to boot out the speaker and why couldnt jk answer the questions? Classic national style mudslinging over age too. Grow up you silly little boy

Your bulletin gave the impression that Peters was kicked out over something to do with the fallen soldiers. In fact it was an entirely different matter. You also failed to mention that other parties spoke up in support of peters. Lockwood Smith was wrong, he created the situatin himself.

actually Kevin this speaker is one of the most respected by all parties. The problem is Peter's is being pathetic. Last week NZ first block the minister correcting an answer, and now they are sulking over it. Notice Peter's speech about the last two soldiers that died lasted less than a minute, then he gave a 5 minute speech about an olympic sportsman. Peters is too old
