Bridgecorp boss Rod Petricevic has been cross examined in the Auckland High Court about what he knew of the company's failure to repay investors before it collapsed.

Petricevic told the Crown prosecutor this afternoon that he only learned the truth after Bridgecorp went under.

Petricevic, Robert Roest and Peter Steigrad all deny making false statements in Bridgecorp's investment documents

During questioning by his own lawyer Charles Cato, Petricevic told the court he noticed the property market becoming difficult in 2006.

However, he said by April 2007 he believed the tight period was over and started planning a vacation, saying he and Roest were “relaxed” with chairman Bruce Davidson leaving.

If convicted, the trio could be fined $300,000 or jailed for five years.
