The Wellington Phoenix and the Perth Glory have been charged with misconduct after their second half A-League flare-up on Friday night.

Six yellow cards were given during the fiery match, four were issued to the Phoenix and two to Perth.

In the 60th minute Phoenix defender Manny Muscat was given a yellow card but remained on the field. This caused tension between the teams but it turned out that Muscat’s first yellow card had been rescinded.

Perth won the match 2-0.

Both teams have until Thursday to respond to the game's governing body.
