A British man, who posted a photoshopped picture of his friend indulging in illegal sex acts on Facebook, has been ordered to pay £10,000 in damages.

Jeremiah Barber, a chef, had been loaned £80 by a friend, Raymond Bryce. Barber allegedly failed to pay the debt back, so Bryce, an ex-bailiff, took Barber to court.

Barber retaliated by posting an altered picture of Bryce on Facebook, which according to Bryce, "made me appear to be a paedophile with homosexual tendencies, neither of which is true".

He says he feared attacks from strangers, as Barber made the photo publically viewable to any of his friends.
