Mr Keys, be a man of honor and do what you said you would do. Bring these men out and give them back to their families and loved ones. Nzers are in an a year of an election, and broken promises will be remembered. I have always had the thought that the NZ Police were not the right people to be in charge of the "so called" rescue,Mines Rescue guys are trained in entering the mine in all sort of circumstances. It lingers on my mind every day,"When Dan called them" and told them about the explosion, why didn't they enter then ? It took Dan over an hour to crawl out, if Mines Rescue had gone in with the gear they have, could there have been more of these men out of the mine? John Key, keep to your word and take action.

To slip so easily from moral obligation to political policy is a dangerous game. More so in an election year. John Key you need to recognize the moral dimensions of good leadership and do what you said that you would because you are the only guy in the country right now that has the power to do so. I am sure that you as a business man will be able to work out a deal to get the public money back from the new owner and I am sure that they do not want to buy a coal mine with the Pike 29 still down there. Man-Up and just do it for all Kiwis who care.

It has always seemed strange to me... that the things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second. Additionally, it has now become the doctrine of a large clan of politicians that political honesty is unnecessary, slow, subversive of a man's interests, and incompatible with quick onward movement. John Key, step up and do the right thing for these people who have been to hell and back every week for six long months. This time you are going to have to earn my vote last time I gave it to you but this issue will define you as a man and as our prime minister. Don't let me and the nation down. Bring Home the Pike 29. They deserve it and its the right thing to do.

My goodness, if ever the labour party really wanted to win an election when it is way behind in the polls, this issue is it. Phil, jump into this thing boots n all and your ratings will just sky-rocket. One thing about New Zealanders, we don't leave our fallen behind, we keep our promises because our word is our bond. This issue now over six months on is just plain wrong. They (cops) now have evidence that there are two intack bodies underground, if there are two guys down there then perhaps there are another 27? Phil, for gods sake man, if you really want to be the PM, then just make this happen. John Campbell, you too have a significant role to play through the media. Time to pull finger mate and just get it done so we can all move on.

Mr Key; To promise not to do a thing is the surest way in the world to make a body want to go and do that very thing. ~Mark Twain, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, 1876 This decision will either make or break you so DO the Right Thing and Lead from the Front.

Interesting! - Despite the loved ones of the fallen claming they are suffering fron harm from the stress of not having their loved ones bodies returned to them no one has clicked or been informed by their so-called professional legal Council that they have a legal right to expect the recievers to attempt a body recovery (given that Mark Cummmins has provied a practicable option and ) given that they (the families )are suffering stress (easily confirmed by a Docters Certificate)arising from a lack of action by the receiver's employees to recover the fallen!
Section 15 of the HSE Act states quite clearly: "Duties of employers to people who are not employees"...
"Every employer shall take all practicable steps to ensure that no action or inaction of any employee while at work harms any other person" Arguably this obligation also applies to the Crown? Families of the fallen - go see your lawyers and fight for the right you already have under the HSE Act!

As the mother of Benjamin Rockhouse ( one of the pike 29)I would like John Key to put himself in my shoes just for a second . Imagine the pain and anguish I am feeling at the loss of my youngest son in such tragic circumstances . Over the last few months I have had some people say that maybe we all need to just move on and deal with our loss .I cant move on and never will until I know I have done everything I can to bring my Ben home . At the moment it feels like hes away on holiday somewhere overseas people are telling me he has died but my heart is telling me that just isnt possible I havent seen any evidence of that surely I would know if that were true ..No I'm not crazy I just cant believe he is gone because I havent had a body to grieve over to touch to talk to to cry over to say goodbye to to tell him how so much I love him and how one day I will see him again ..I have had all that taken away from me and for me I will never have that closure until the day I take MY last breath, unless they bring my son home . Also how can they prevent this sort of thing happening again they must get in they must get those men out and for all those who think we need to move on now u imagine if it were ur child /husband brother /father how would u feel then . John Key show us u arent a typical politician and actually follow thru with what u say Please do the right thing .

People all over think they know how the Pike families feel but until you are part of the pain and suffering families and friends go through on a daily basis, then only you’ll know what they're feeling. Being so close to your loved ones but being so far away! This tragedy did not just cause pain for people but has been an instrument of division and broken relationships. Where do the government draw the line and decide to do something? After everyone relationships have been broken, wife’s abused, lives ruined because many people are not strong enough to handle what has happen. Brokenness is not the answer, but healing is!
