After Knocked Up and Superbad, Seth Rogen is back, this time with an action movie - albeit a stoner/action movie.
Rogen finds himself on the run with his drug dealer, played to hilarious effect by James Franco, and so the action portion of the stoner/action flick ensues.
The Judd Apatow/Seth Rogan comedy juggernaut keeps on rolling, and Pineapple Express shouldn't disappoint their devotees.
Franco's sweet and hapless drug dealer is a highlight, the whole buddy premise in fact really holds this film together.
This isn't joke/punchline cinema - rather than pushing your buttons to get the requisite laugh, these guys are just naturally funny, plain and simple.
No question, I found the Pineapple Express a train worth boarding.
4 stars from me.
