Police have growing concerns for the safety of two men who went missing in separate incidences over the weekend.

West Auckland Police are appealing to the public for any sightings of Ross Victor Robertshaw who has been reported missing from his home in Swanson.

The 29-year-old student was last sighted by his flatmate at about 8:15am on Saturday as he was departing his Burton Road residence in his motor vehicle – a grey 1987 Honda hatchback motor vehicle registration ACRX.

Police say his disappearance is considered to be out of character and they have early concerns for his safety and well being.

Early inquiries into the disappearance suggest he may be travelling to the Northland region and could be in the Whangarei area.

Mr Robertshaw is described as European of medium build and stands at 170cm tall; he has short blonde hair with a slightly receding hairline and is clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing a white polo shirt and black polofleece jacket with a zip up the front. The left hand corner of both the shirt and polofleece has a UNITEC logo.

He was also wearing black pants, black tidy shoes/trainers and a blue lanyard around his neck.

Police do not regard his disappearance as suspicious at this time.

Meanwhile Christchurch police are appealing for any sightings or information about missing 60-year-old Peter Tucker.

Mr Tucker was last seen at about 3am on a rural property in Taylors Road, which is near Clarkville, north of the Waimakariri River.

Police believe Mr Tucker is relatively fit, however is very unfamiliar with the area.

The clean-shaven, Caucasian is of medium build with grey hair and wears a hearing aid as well as glasses.

He was last seen wearing a navy blue jacket, green short-sleeved shirt, brown trousers, and shoes.

His jacket has distinctive markings - on the front left breast are the letters "PAC" in white and on the rear is an outline of a plane with "Cresco" written underneath.
