Retired Judge Sir Thomas Thorp calculates that extrapolating from the British experience of the Criminal Cases Review Commission, the NZ prison population could hold up to 20 wrongfully convicted prisoners at any one time. The scrupulous research done by journalist Keith Hunter shows convincingly that Scott Watson is one of these.
26 years with no parole, shoddy evidence and no bodies.Give him a re-trial. There were hundreds at the crime site that night. Shame on NZ !
The only ones who seem to have a beef with how the investigation occurred are Scott's father and the documentary maker, Scott hasn't made any sort of complaint as to how the investigation went.Evidence was presented in court, defence had the opportunity to question the evidence and get it ruled admissable but in the end Scott was found guilty and the court of appeal has held that ruling.
