A police pursuit in Auckland today has led to the recovery of property stolen hours earlier.

At about 11:35am today, a stolen vehicle was seen leaving the address of a burglary in Glen Innes.

"The occupants of the vehicle led police on a chase on and off the Southern Motorway and through Glen Innes, Otahuhu, Manukau and Takanini where the vehicle eventually had to stop for a freight train. The assistance of ground police staff, the eagle helicopter and the use of road spikes led to a successful outcome for police," said Counties - Manukau senior sergeant Mark Rowbottom.

No property, police or civilian vehicles were damaged during the pursuit.

Three people are currently being spoken to by police in relation to the incident.
