Auckland City Police have confirmed they are running a homicide inquiry into the death of 23-year-old Damien Loder Allen who was found dead on September 24 as a result of a head injury.

The Hillsborough address where he was found has been subjected to an extensive scene examination over the past few weeks, in an attempt by police and ESR scientists to reconstruct what happened there.

Tests were done to determine if there was blood present at the scene, and these identified areas of interest.

Police are awaiting further analysis of the tests before they give any further comment.

“This man has died as a result of an impact to the head. How that happened and who did it are the focus of this investigation,” says Detective Inspector Scott Beard.
