Police are scouring CCTV footage after the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in Kapiti.

Sean Strongman-Linten of Paraparaumu was killed early yesterday morning in the carpark of the Kapiti Lights complex.

It's believed he was involved in a scuffle inside the Monteiths Junction bar before being asked to leave.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder.

Police are now looking for a knife that may have been discarded in the Kapiti Lights area or on State Highway 1 south of Paraparaumu.

The incident comes just a month after the violent death of a 17-year old, Izak Millanta, in the same area.
