Police investigating a double ram raid incident in Manukau this morning are appealing to the public for information on the getaway car.
They are already in possession of a Nissan Primera, used to ram the side wall of the Mobile petrol station in Mt Wellington around midnight. The car had been stolen from an address in Papatoetoe around 6:30pm last night.
A white Honda Odyssey, registration ESP185, was used to flee the scene in Mt Wellington and police are currently trying to locate the vehicle.
A second station was hit at 3:40am on Great South Road. The offenders used a 1997 Nissan Mistral to ram the Orams Mobil, in order to gain entry to the service station.
“The offenders gained entry to the Mobil station, which was closed, and made away with an ATM machine from inside,” says Counties Manukau Major Crime Team Detective Steve Mariu. “They were seen escaping the scene in a white vehicle. We suspect this vehicle to be the white Honda Odyssey from the previous incident.”
Anyone with information about either incident or the stolen vehicles should call Mr Mariu on (09) 263 1300 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
