Auckland police have arrested and charged two men with aggravated robbery, following a bank robbery this afternoon.

Children at a nearby school were locked indoors, as police hunted for a third armed robber. Tonight, he remains on the loose.

Viewer video sent in to 3 News shows the police arresting one of three men who robbed a bank at 2.30 this afternoon.

Police say the men entered the ASB Bank in Greenlane armed, escaping with cash.

Police found and arrested two people in a suburban street at 3pm.

But a third man was on the loose and Royal Oak Primary School kept students in the school hall when they heard the helicopters.

The Armed Offenders Squad were also on the scene and some surrounding streets were closed off.

Parents had to wait for over an hour before they could see their children who had been kept safe in a locked classroom.

“The police chief from Auckland Central did come and speak to us. He told us that there was an armed man with a rifle that they were looking for,” says parent Melissa Egerton.

That man remains on the loose, but police did recover a firearm and a cash box from the two men arrested.

They will appear at the Auckland District Court tomorrow.

Wasn't it the ASB at Royal Oak,in Manukau Rd? Greenlane is a long way from Royal Oak Primary School.
The children were all in the school hall, not a classroom.
